After a long vacation, a lot of us don't feel like going to office / school. Adi is no better. After a 2 week vacation, on monday when he woke up, the first thing he said was as follows:
Adi: Amma.. office close
Tush: No monu.. amma going to office..
Adi: huhhuhu (attempting to cry)
Tush: ok ok..
Adi: Amma office close. Adi home sit. Accha.. office going?
Me: Yes monu.
Adi. Amma office close. Adi home sit.
Then, started the regular drama, where after each activity like making him drink milk or making him shit or having bath or brushing his teeth or having breakfast, he would re-iterate at least 5 times that amma's office is closed and school no.
Around 815 he saw that Tushara was getting ready to office.
Adi: Adi home sit. Adi, pappa park going.
All of us, obviously are trying to entice him with facts that you would have Latisha / Vedika / Arihant in school and that he will go by bhaiyya car. Each of this was met by a firm "Adi home sit. Adi, pappa park going".
After his breakfast, we got him dressed. He kept telling "School no". I kept telling yes.. no school.
Now, waiting near the lift.
Tush: Adi, amma going to office
Adi: Bye. Adi home sit.
When he sees me putting on my sandals.. Adi: huhuh(trying to cry).
Me: Why are you crying? We are going down to say bye to Amma
Adi: haan.
In the lift,
Me: Adi, are you going to school?
Adi: No, Adi home sit. Adi, pappa park going.
We subsequently said bye to Tushara and are waiting on the porch for his car to come.
Adi: Adi no school. Bhaiyya car vavu. Adi home sit. Adi,pappa park going.
Me: That is ok. Accha is going to school. Can you put me in bhaiiya car
Adi: (smile). haan. Accha go school. Adi home.
Me: how will you go home?
Adi: Lift
Me: Can you go on your own?
Adi: haan
Me: Ok, so will you put in me Bhaiyya car?
Adi: Haan. Accha go school. Adi home sit.
Finally, the car arrives and I push him into the car, much to his discomfort. He gives me a glowering look and then turns away refusing to say bye to me.
Interesting times in the morning. I wonder how did he ever imagine that I would go to school.
