Malpua

This time.. the incident is from Muthacchan.

We had been to Rajdhani on Sunday for lunch. This was more of a Diwali treat. The food was sumptuous as usual with our hero looking around and absorbing the going-ons in the background like a sponge.

After food, muthacchan comments:

M: The food is sweet here. Everything is sweet. The dal, the parota – biscuit parota. Too sweet for my taste. Sigh!!

The waiter comes around

Waiter: Madam (Tushara) .. would you like to have some malpua.

Tushara: Yes, please.

As the waiter is leaving, Pappa accosts the waiter..

M: Hello.. I want Malpua too..

Now.. this resulted in all of us bursting into peals of laughter.. with only M & Adi looking bemused.

The person who was cribbing about food being sweet, accosts the waiter and orders malpua..

Studies again

It is evening time. Our hero is sitting cross legged on the sofa lounging around.

Me: yeda.. you did no studying today at all. Did you not say in the morning that you will be studying today?

Adi: (No reply. A very dignified silence. Looking at TV with great somberness)

Me: Da cheka..  I am talking to you. When are you going to study?

Adi. (silence again)

Me: Adi…

Adi: eeiii.. (wagging his finger). Don’t disturb me.

Studies.. ??

Adi’s disdain for writing is quite well known. He tried all means to ward off the evil of writing. Recently:

Me: Adi, what is your plan today?

Adi: I? I study. I read. I write, then apply oil, have bath, have mamu and go to sleep.

ME: ok. Study.. hmm.. interesting. I don’t believe it.

Adi: (Cheeky smile)

I head out for some work:

Ammamma: Adi.. come let us do some studying

Adi: No.. not now. I study in the evening.

Adi walks away from the drawing room towards the bedroom. While, walking he mutters to himself

Adi: Ammamma say study in the morning, I say study evening.. ammamma say study in evening.. I say study morning.. he he he he he.. Crook.

Baby in accha tummy

An interesting conversation yday.

Tush & I went shopping for furniture yday evening. Chotoo was asleep so we did not wake him up. After he got up, he cried asking for amma.

Ammamma: Adi.. you can’t cry like this asking for amma everytime. When the baby is to be born, Amma will go to the hospital. Will you still cry like this then?

Chotoo: … silent for sometime. Engrossed in deep thought.

After awhile –

Chotoo – Ammamma tell doctor aunty to put baby in accha tummy. Adi stay with amma and accha go to hospital.

Now.. what do I say in the face of such loyalty?
